That's a good idea, except the pitch would be opposite with the setup you showed(Unless the joystick is backwards). I know I could build this if I really took some time to learn everything. I'm a visual person, and I learn better by seeing how its done rather than reading. some switches for starting the engine and changing views, etc… So… 7 levers in total (altitude throttle). A throttle quadrant I can use for both scouts and multi-engined bombers. The only thing to be careful of is that only one of the switches must be used at one time. However with some care you can use the hat controls as separate switches (there are 4 of them). The page says there are 32 switches, 1 hat and 8 axes. More than one in IL2 I have lowered my gear as I have entered a fight……. I actually use the gear handle in RoF to cock my guns. With this I can assign gear up or down, but with the flick of a few switches it can operate is a 'pump' for aircraft with manual undercarraige, e.g. For instance I have an undercarraige control panel (not much use in RoF admittedly!). These things are simple to use and with a little imagination and fancy wiring you can do some interesting things. Dont be put off by the basic website, these things are great and quite popular…more importantly they work! I recommend the X version as you do not need to produce your own wiring matrix (which causes lots of problems) for connecting the switches, you just plug them in. I use 2, the BU0836X version adn the earlier 0836. All you need to do is attach the buttons and switches to the controller and the comupter sees it as a joystick. This allows you to attach upto 36 switches and 8 axes to your computer as a simple joystick. There is one item he hasnt mentioned using (though I havent looked through the whole site) and that is the BU0836X controller. ![]()
